| The coaching program is customized to each individual's needs but will usually include activities focused on the following areas: |

1) Organizational diagnosis |
|
|
One of the first steps when moving into a new executive position is to get a clear picture of the organization's strengths, weaknesses and challenges in order to establish priorities for action. We provide you with a process and tools to conduct your organizational diagnosis in a way that will position you early in the leadership role that you want to assume.

|
2) Enrollment strategy |
|
|
Executives are closely scrutinized in their first months in a new position. The way you build relationships and promote your leadership style will have a major impact on your ability to influence and to enrol people into the corporate agenda. We help you to select the relationship and enrolment strategies that will send clear messages about your leadership style and expectations. You learn strategies to build trust and cooperation with the senior team members and to rapidly assess their abilities. We also provide, for an added cost, senior team alignment sessions, to help your team in building collective leadership skills. |

3) Strategic management |
|
|
One of your motivations for a new senior position was probably the challenge of a change agenda. We support you in identifying the strategic elements of your change agenda and to enhance your critical reflection skills about what is happening in the organization and the impact of your strategic choices. This is especially relevant if you are new to the executive ranks, or when the move comes as the result of a significant promotion.

4) Personal transition |
|
|
Moving into a new role always requires some personal adaptation to a new culture, a new environment and perhaps a new city. It may not be appropriate to share your personal feelings about your adaptation with your staff. You may also want to change some leadership behaviours on the recommendation of the selection committee, or out of personal choice, in order to maximize your effectiveness. Our coaches provide an impartial listening ear, a mirror to help you interpret your reactions, and techniques to help you develop new behaviours.

5) Relationship with the Board |
|
|
If you are transitioning to a CEO position, a key aspect of your role involves building a strong working relationship with your Board of directors or governing body and especially with the Chair. We assist you in clarifying the respective roles and responsibilities, and to assess how to work most effectively with the Board/governing body and the Chair. You receive, in addition to the regular coaching, a one hour session with one of our corporate governance experts. You can also attend one of our short seminars on Board-CEO relationships, if the schedule is convenient. We also organize regular networking sessions with other CEOs in the area as a means of support for expanding your professional network.

6) Sounding board |
|
|
Finally, you benefit from an objective sounding board who listens to options, ideas, and issues, and helps you to frame your thoughts or to confirm tough choices.

What the program includes |
|
|
For an all inclusive price, you receive as many coaching sessions as you desire for a period of four or six months. All tailored activities, tools, and techniques are included as part of the program. Instrumentation can be used, at an additional cost. We offer you the choice of a number of professional coaches to ensure a proper fit with your own style and professional needs.
