Lili-Ann Foster is the founding President of Renaud Foster Management Consultants and internationally recognized for her leadership in the fields of Executive Search, Corporate Governance and Leadership Development.

Ms. Foster is the recipient of the 2010 Businesswoman of the Year Award - Entrepreneur from the Women’s Business Network.

Ms. Foster has led executive searches and governance assignments, in the public and private sectors, including Board governance reviews and retreats, as well as advising the Auditor General of Canada and the Privy Council Office. Ms. Foster is well known for the development and delivery, from 2003 to 2008, of the governance education program for Canada’s 46 Crown Corporations. In addition, from 2006 to 2008, Ms Foster was Program Director, Crown Corporation Governance at the Schulich School of Business in Toronto and she is currently a guest lecturer on governance at the Rotman and Telfer schools of management in the MBA and EMBA programs. Her international governance work has taken her to such locations as South America, Morocco, Asia, Central America, Europe, the U.S. and the Middle East.

Ms. Foster was re-appointed in 2009 by the Lieutenant Governor to the Public Accountants Council of Ontario and is the Chair of its Governance Committee. She is also the Chair of the Institute of Corporate Directors Advisory Council (ICD, Ottawa Chapter) and was previously the Chair of the Board for the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO). In that role, she was instrumental in introducing a model of corporate governance that gained national attention and for which DICO received the first award for Best Practices in the public sector (2001). Ms Foster’s board experience ranges from profit to non-profit organizations here and abroad.

Ms. Foster has spoken on governance at a number of conferences including: The World Council of Credit Unions, the Regards Croisés sur la Gouvernance in Paris, The International Alliance for Women (TIAW) in Europe and the U.S., The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), The Schulich School of Business, The Conference Board of Canada, the Canadian Institute, and she is a member of the Washington-based National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). She has also led the Governance Orientation Program for all international board members of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) over the last five years.

Ms. Foster is a Certified Management Consultant, Certified Executive Coach and holds a B.Sc. from Concordia University. She is fluent in English, French and conversant in Spanish.

Her community involvement includes: being a founding member of Women For Mental Health (2011), organizing and leading a major panel on “Breaking Down Stigma and Transforming Mental Health Care” (2011), being a judge for the Philanthropy Awards (2007-2011), as well as organizing and hosting private concerts for Opera Lyra. Her hobbies have included: aerobatic flying, motorcycling, scuba diving, and hot air ballooning.
