Lili-Ann Foster is the founding President of Renaud Foster Management Consultants and nationally recognized for her leadership in the fields of Corporate Governance, Executive and Director Recruitment and Executive Coaching.
Ms. Foster has led a number of governance assignments in the public and private sectors, including Board governance reviews and retreats, and advising the Auditor General of Canada and the Privy Council Office regarding corporate governance for federal crowns and agencies. These projects, and others, demonstrated one of her greatest strengths – the ability to practically apply the principles of good governance while simultaneously resolving conflicts and furthering teamwork in Boards and executive teams.
Ms. Foster was appointed by the Lieutenant Governor to the Public Accountants Council of Ontario and is the Chair of its Governance Committee; she is also a member of the Nominating Committee of the Rideau Club of Ottawa. From 1993 to 1997 she was Chair of the Board for the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO). In that role, she was instrumental in introducing a model of corporate governance that gained national attention and for which DICO received the first award for Best Practices in the public sector (2001). She was, until recently, the Chair of the Resource Management Committee and Treasurer for the SCO Health Services' Board, and a Director of The International Alliance for Women in Washington (TIAW). Ms. Foster chairs the National Capital CEO Network and the Network for Executive Women, sponsored by Renaud Foster.
A well-regarded public speaker and facilitator, Ms. Foster was a speaker on governance at a number of national and international conferences including: The World Council of Credit Unions, the Stabilization Funds of Canada, Financial Executives International, the Regards Croisés sur la Gouvernance in Paris, France, and at the TIA annual general meeting in Dallas. She has also been a governance speaker for AceTech (Academy for Technology CEOs) in Whistler, the Ottawa President's Club and the 2003 ADM Forum. Ms Foster is both the Governance Program Director and a faculty member at the Schulich Executive Education Centre at the Schulich School of Business, Toronto.
Prior to 1986, Ms. Foster headed Ernst & Young's human resources and executive search practice in eastern Ontario. Earlier in her career, she was a partner in the Montreal-based firm of Brendan Wood Management Resources International and a management consultant with the Coopers & Lybrand Group.
Ms. Foster is a Certified Management Consultant and holds a B.Sc. from Concordia University. She is fluent in English, French and is conversant in Spanish.
