Lili-Ann Foster is the founding President of Renaud Foster Management Consultants and nationally recognized for her leadership in the fields of Corporate Governance, Executive and Director Recruitment and Executive Coaching.
Ms. Foster has led a number of governance assignments nationally and internationally, in the public and private sectors, including Board governance reviews and retreats, as well as advising the Auditor General of Canada and the Privy Council Office regarding corporate governance for federal crowns and agencies. Ms. Foster has carried out governance reviews and board training for organizations globally, including such locations as Columbia, Morocco, China, Mexico and the Middle East.
Ms. Foster was appointed in 2006 by the Lieutenant Governor to the Public Accountants Council of Ontario and is the Chair of its Governance Committee. She is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors Executive Committee (Ottawa Chapter) and a member of the Nominating Committee for the Rideau Club of Ottawa. From 1993 to 1997 she was Chair of the Board for the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO). In that role, she was instrumental in introducing a model of corporate governance that gained national attention and for which DICO received the first award for Best Practices in the public sector (2001). Past board experience includes: SCO Health Services, where she was Chair of the Resource Management Committee and Treasurer, Director of The International Alliance for Women in Washington (TIAW), and Director of the Rideau Club (Ottawa). She is the Founder and Chair of the Renaud Foster Network for Executive Women (RFNEW), sponsored by her firm since 1992.
A well-regarded public speaker and facilitator, Ms. Foster has spoken on governance at a number of conferences including: The World Council of Credit Unions, the Regards Croisés sur la Gouvernance in Paris, France, The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), The Schulich School of Business, The Conference Board of Canada, and the Financial Executives International.
Prior to 1986, Ms. Foster headed Ernst & Young's human resources and executive search practice in eastern Ontario. Earlier in her career, she was a partner in the Montreal-based firm of Brendan Wood Management Resources International and a management consultant with the Coopers & Lybrand Group.
Ms. Foster is a Certified Management Consultant and holds a B.Sc. from Concordia University. She is fluent in English, French and is conversant in Spanish. She enjoys motorcycling and has previously enjoyed scuba diving and aerobatic flying.
