Eric Slankis, Assistant Vice-President with RenaudFoster and Principal with Odgers Berndtson has more than fifteen years of executive search experience, including time as a Partner with Canada’s largest search firm. Eric brings a deep understanding of best-of-breed recruiting practices and a client-first focus to Renaud Foster. He has led hundreds of searches in both the public and private sector, over half of which have been CEO-level engagements.
Skilled in recognizing clients’ underlying needs, Eric has worked effectively with diverse stakeholder groups and Boards of Directors to facilitate successful leadership transition. He has recruited CEOs and senior management members for a diverse client-base in the healthcare, non-profit, academia, and association sectors, and has significant experience working with Canada’s Crown Corporations and government agencies.
Eric brings an inclusive, collaborative approach to executive search, working with stakeholders and Boards to ensure transparency, confidentiality, and a seamless process. He excels at process improvement and at employing a streamlined approach to candidate screening, placing an emphasis on organizational fit, and at assisting clients in making their most challenging hiring decisions.
Accomplished at facilitating stakeholder consultations to achieve consensus, he has authored several articles concerning building exceptional leaders, and on implementing successful transition strategies. Eric has also provided pro-bono services to a number of Ottawa-based organizations, and has been a featured speaker and facilitator at a myriad of career-oriented conferences. Eric has a Bachelor degree in Political Science from York University.
